Let’s talk ingredients. I used Organic PB Fit Powder not so much as a lower calorie option for the kids, but more for myself knowing I’ll be snacking on these too. Plus, I think it holds the balls together beautifully. You also skip the palm oil if you are working to avoid that, but the powder does have added cane sugar. Instead of the Superfood Chocolate Smoothie Mix you could use chocolate protein powder. The benefits of the Superfood Smoothie Mix are amazing though! It has pumpkin seed protein, maca, hemp seed, acai, goji berries, camu camu, chia seeds, and several other things that I don’t think I could get my kids to eat. I always use raw honey and I think the mini-sized chocolate chips make these easier to eat. I also like to use One Degree Organic Foods for my oats. I’ve seen some articles on some of the big named brands containing high levels of glyphosphate and I try to avoid that.

Tip: Pop them into the freezer for 10 minutes after you make them. I feel like these keeps the chocolate from melting on your hands when you eat them!
